On January 25, 2022, the Personal Property Registry application was updated as part of the modernization initiative.
The following is a list of known issues and updates for the PPR application that are currently being worked on or have been resolved. Please check regularly for updates.
PPR Debtor and Secured Party “Name Changed” label displaying for newly added debtor/secured party (Resolved)
Resolved on June 1, 2023 at 11:12 AM Pacific Time |
Amendments and Search outputs may display a “name changed” label for secured parties or debtors who have been added. This has been noted in cases where a secured party or debtor is deleted from a registration and in the same amendment a new secured party or debtor is added using the exact same address.
The system logic for applying labels will be updated to ensure “Added” displays in cases where a new secured party or debtor is added.
PPR Transition Registrations missing previous registration information (Resolved)
Resolved on March 29, 2023 at 10:12 AM Pacific Time |
Search outputs obtained for PPR Transition type registrations between January 25, 2022 and March 29, 2023 did not include additional text containing previous registration information.
Previous registration information has been added to search outputs for PPR Transition Type registrations. Any searches completed after March 29, 2023 will include this information in the tombstone.
Vehicle collateral Make displayed as 'BWM" instead of "BMW" (Resolved)
Resolved on August 2, 2022 at 10:36 AM Pacific Time
In registrations completed before January 25, 2022 vehicle collateral that had been entered with the value "BMW" in the Make field is transcribed to read "BWM". The incorrect ("BWM") Make field value is displayed in verification statements and search result reports issued on or after January 25, 2022 until the date that this issue is resolved.
Vehicle collateral Make field values entered before January 25, 2022 which now read "BWM" will be corrected to read "BMW".
PPR Search Result Report ordering (Resolved)
Resolved on March 17, 2022 at 10:40 AM Pacific Time
When a PPR Search is completed, regardless of whether the search result is an exact or partial match, the PDF output order logic is unclear.
Current order logic poses challenges to those reviewing the PDF outputs. It is challenging to determine lien priority.
The PPR Search PDF output will be updated to include base registration date, and sort on base registration date from oldest to newest
PPR Search Result Report is not available for registrations containing a very large number of vehicle collateral (Resolved)
Resolved on March 17, 2022 at 10:40 AM Pacific Time
When any type of search is completed, if one of the registrations selected for inclusion in the search result report includes approximately 1500 or more lines of vehicle collateral the search report (PDF icon) will generate an error when clicked.
The search result report generates an error when selected through the PPR application’s My Searches list.
The search result report will be able to include registration details regardless of the size of the registration.
Discharged Repairers Lien registrations are appearing on dashboard as Active with ‘Total Discharge’ being the only available action, allowing them to be discharged again (Resolved)
RESOLVED
Discharged Repairers Lien registrations are appearing on dashboard as Active with ‘Total Discharge’ being the only available action, allowing them to be discharged again.
Dashboard displays inaccurate status of the registration and available activity. Clients are able to discharge the registration again.
When a Repairers Lien has been discharged the table will reflect the status ‘Discharged’ and the only available action is ‘Remove from Table’
Amendments are failing where legacy (old system) data is missing address information (Resolved)
Resolved
Amendments are failing where legacy (old system) data is missing address information
If the registration being amended contains data that is missing address fields (like country), then the client will receive a generic error and be unable to proceed.
Fixes have been completed to registrations from the legacy PPR application with addresses missing information. This was preventing amendments from being completed on those registrations.
Renewals performed between January 1, 2022 and January 24, 2022 are not reflected in the status of registrations (Resolved)
Resolved
Renewals performed between January 1, 2022 and January 24, 2022 do not accurately reflect the revised expiry date:
PPR reports and the PPR dashboard display inaccurate status for affected registrations. Clients are not able to search for affected registrations once 30 days have passed beyond the original (pre-renewal) Expiry Date.
The Personal Property Registry System has been closed February 10, 2022 12:45pm PST – 2:45pm PST. Affected users will be notified for action.

Resolved
See also the issue described as “Deleted debtors are not shown as deleted”
In addition to the issue described as “Deleted debtors are not shown as deleted” PPR debtor name searches performed 25-26 Jan 2022 may contain inaccurate search match list information. The search match list (exact and inexact matches) may list debtor names and their registration numbers which were removed (deleted) from the registration by a prior amendment. This affects both:
Affected debtor name search results should not be relied upon for determination of valid registrations.
Correction: The following corrections have been applied:
NOTE: The above corrections WILL NOT apply retroactively to past search result reports from 25-26 Jan 2022, but only to new searches.
Identification and communication of affected debtor name searches is in progress.
Deleted debtors are not shown as deleted (Resolved)
Resolved
On Jan 25 & 26th, deleted debtors were not shown as deleted in PPR reports. Specifically:
This issue affected verification statements and search result reports from launch of the new PPR until correction.
All search results and verification statements Jan 25 & 26th
Two corrections have been applied:
Search result report does not display middle name in search criteria (Resolved)
RESOLVED 2022-01-25 4:45 PM PST
When an individual debtor name search is completed using a middle name (second given name), the middle name is not displayed in the section at the top of the first page which displays the search criteria.
You may see a debtor name marked as an exact match which differs from the search criteria that is displayed, or a debtor name marked as an inexact match which appears to be the same as the search criteria.
However, the search result report is accurate based upon the full search criteria used, including the middle name (subject to other known issues). The middle name is used within the search result including to determine whether a registered debtor name is an exact or inexact match to the search criteria.
The search criteria middle name will be displayed.
Search report displays "TEST DATA" in the footer (Resolved)
RESOLVED 2022-01-25 4:45 PM PST

The words “TEST DATA” will be removed from the footer of the PPR report issued from the PPR application.

RESOLVED 2022-01-26 1:15 PM PST
When displaying registration details in a verification statement or search result reports, the general collateral description text is displayed twice. Specifically:
The general collateral data will be displayed once in reverse chronological order.
PPR reports display general collateral text without line breaks and tabs (Resolved)
RESOLVED. Last updated: 2022-01-25 1:15 PM PST
When displaying registration details in a verification statement or search result reports, the general collateral description text is displayed without formatting such as tab characters and new lines. The result is all general collateral text being displayed as a single paragraph.
General collateral text will be displayed with tab and line formatting if included when the registration was created.
PPR reports display general collateral text out of order for registrations done before PPR modernization (Resolved)
RESOLVED 2022-01-25 1:15 PM PST
This issue affects the display of general collateral text that was entered prior to PPR modernization (before 25 Jan 2022) AND WHERE the general collateral text spanned more than one “block” of text. The blocks of text are displayed in reverse order from how they were originally entered into the base registration or the registration change or amendment.
The general collateral data for each pre-modernization registration will be displayed in the same order that it was originally entered into the registration.
