First Nations Forestry Training

Description

BC First Nations Forestry Council's Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program is designed to provide support for First Nations (status/non-status) or Métis Descent students interested in attending full-time studies in a designated post-secondary institution.

The program is delivered in partnership with BC Timber Sales (BCTS) and Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) program.

The program provides Indigenous students with:

  1. Tuition and living scholarship
  2. Paid summer work-term experience and one-on-one mentorship with a program partner
  3. Support from your local Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Program (ISETP) centre

The Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program (IFSP) for Indigenous students attending full-time studies in the following applicable areas:

  • Forestry Technician
  • Natural Resources
  • Environmental Technology 
  • Business Management 
  • Business Administration 
  • Geographic Information Systems 
  • Forestry Trades:
    • Construction Millwrights and Industrial Mechanics
    • Logging Machine Operator
    • Skidder Operator
    • Heavy-duty Mechanics​
