Most Recent Update

October 24, 2017 - 9:00 am

A small ammonia leak was reported at a chicken processing plant, located at 1910 Kingsway Avenue. The leak was caused by a failed valve seal. 

A contractor specializing in ammonia is on site and the plant has been evacuated. The facility is being ventilated and a re-entry plan is being developed. No injuries have been reported.

The Port Coquitlam Fire Department and WorkSafeBC have been notified. No further updates are anticipated unless the situation deteriorates.
