Fortis BC crews isolated the gas leak, shut down the line and repairs are underway. The evacuation was lifted.

A utility contractor struck a gas line in Pitt Meadows today (May 9, 2018) at Harris Rd between Ford Road and 122nd Ave.
Pitt Meadows Fire Department has evacuated the area within 200 m. Pitt Meadows Emergency Operations Centre has established Emergency Social Services for evacuees. The exact number of evacuees is unknown at this time.
Fortis BC is on site to isolate and begin repairing the gas line.
