The British Columbia Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy (ENV) has been notified of a release of home heating oil to an ephemeral creek east of Highway 6 in Nakusp. Under the direction of ENV, the Responsible Person has retained an environmental response contractor and an environmental consultant. The impacted area has been confined and work to recover the spilled fuel is underway. It is the expectation of the BC ENV that cleanup efforts will be continuing throughout the week.
