February 6, 2020 - 6:22 pm
At approximately 6:00 pm on February 5, 2020 a Super B Tanker truck hauling Jet A fuel rolled off into a ditch adjacent to Highway 16 near Red Pass Junction.
Response contractors have offloaded all of the contents from the Super B tanker and salvage operations for the truck and trailer are complete. There is currently no evidence of any waterways being affected due to the incident and minimal impacts to the receiving environment.
Two Environmental Emergency Response Officers (EERO) with B.C. Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy (ENV) were at the site today (February 6, 2020) to oversee the response actions and undertake site assessments. An EERO will continue to monitor the incident and the impacted environment.
