Highway 1 has reopened after a fatal multi-vehicle incident in Glacier National Park yesterday. B.C. Ministry of Environment has coordinated with Parks Canada staff and response contractors to oversee the cleanup of spilled dangerous goods. An environmental consultant has been retained for vehicle fluids cleanup, including diesel fuel and paint which were released as a result of the incident.
No further updates are anticipated for this incident.

A multiple-vehicle accident occurred near the west gate of Glacier National Park this morning. Three semi tractor trailers and a SUV are reported to be involved in the incident. RCMP, B.C. Ambulance and Parks Canada staff are enroute to the scene.

Further investigation is needed to determine if there are dangerous goods involved. B.C. Ministry of Environment staff are monitoring the situation. Further updates will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.
