Approximately 11,000 L of fuel was offloaded from the barge to decrease the risk of pollution last night (June 18, 2018). B.C. Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations & Rural Development also brought in additional pumps and generators to right the barge.
A contractor was hired to remain on site to monitor the pumping.
No further updates are expected.

A barge moored on the Fraser River near Silverdale, BC is at risk of sinking. Canadian Coast Guard are planning to offload fuel from the vessel to decrease the likelihood of fuel entering the river. No sheen is reported at this time.
Two Environmental Emergency Response Officers (EEROs) with the Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy are en route to the incident site. First Nations, local governments and other relevant government agencies have been notified.
