March 7, 2019 - 11:00 am
On March 3, 2019, a transport truck carrying petroleum crude oil went off Sweetwater Road between Rolla and Farmington, north of Dawson Creek, B.C.
Both trailers and the tractor unit caught fire. There were no reports of injuries, however, the incident caused the closure of Sweetwater Road. The road was re-opened the next day (March 4, 2019).
Approximately 37,000 L of crude oil was spilled to the roadway. No waterways were impacted.
An Environmental Emergency Response Officer (EERO) was on site on March 4, 2019, to monitor the incident clean up.
No further updates are expected for this incident.
