Research and experience indicates that children who grow up connected to their culture do better. Aboriginal children and teens feel more at home when they live with a family that helps them stay in touch with their culture and community.
If you're an Aboriginal or non-Aboriginal adult (19+ years old), consider sharing your home and life with a child in need and apply to be a foster caregiver. You don't have to be married, be a parent, own a home, or have lots of money – you don't have to be a Status Indian, either.
