Education: Cait O'Sullivan has a clinical pharmacy background in acute general medicine, long term care, and community practice. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Brunswick (Medical Anthropology), a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University, and a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Washington.
Work experience: Based in the Comox Valley, Cait is an academic pharmacist with the B.C. Provincial Academic Detailing (PAD) Service.
Prior to joining the academic detailing team, Cait practiced as a clinical pharmacist in general medicine/acute care for Vancouver Coastal Health, and earlier as a community pharmacist in northern Vancouver Island.
Academic detailing experience: Cait has been with the PAD service since October 2010. Her first exposure to this form of continuing medical education was during a doctor of pharmacy internship with Dalhousie’s Academic Detailing Service in Halifax. Cait has completed Basic and Advanced Academic Detailing training.
Other: Cait has a practice interest in the drug approval process and clinical practice guideline methodology. Living in rural B.C. allows her to indulge in exploring the outdoors through mountain biking, snowshoeing, and running.
