Education: Fatima earned her BSc (Pharm) from the University of British Columbia and her PharmD from the University of Toronto. She has also completed a Community Pharmacy Residency.
Work experience: Fatima started her pharmacy career as a pharmacy assistant in 2002. After completing residency in 2012, Fatima joined Fraser Health working in hospital-based care with focused practice in oncology, pain/symptom management and palliative care. She also gained experience in general medicine, infectious diseases, surgery, geriatrics, psychiatry, internal medicine, and ambulatory care. Fatima has also worked at BC Cancer as a Compassionate Access Program Coordinator, and as the Provincial Pharmacy Education and Residency Program Coordinator. She is a clinical instructor with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia. Fatima volunteers with Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration – a non-profit organization with a mission to provide education and mentorship for healthcare providers and develop equitable and accessible healthcare programs that improve disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment for oncology, palliative and end-of life care.
Academic detailing experience: Fatima joined the BC PAD Service in March 2024.
Other: When not at work, Fatima is busy chasing a very active toddler who loves to explore the world around him! Fatima is an avid reader and usually has 1-2 books on the go.
