Education: Rachelle studied at the University of Alberta in the honors physiology program before entering the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences where she graduated with a BSc in pharmacy. Rachelle then went on to earn her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Colorado. She is a Canadian Board-Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).
Work experience: Rachelle works full time as an academic detailer for the BC PAD service. She is a clinical hospital pharmacist at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital. Rachelle served as an adjunct professor for 14 terms at the University of Northern British Columbia. Before that, she was a community pharmacist and pharmacy manager in Chetwynd. She still enjoys doing locum community pharmacy work whenever she can. She is licensed to practice in B.C. and Alberta.
Academic detailing experience: Rachelle has been an academic detailer since May 2009. She has completed the basic and advanced academic detailing training.
Rachelle remains deeply involved with the nurse practitioner program in Northern Health, where she helps facilitate portions of the Orientation to Practice for new nurse practitioners. She is also a regular presenter at the annual Rural Nurse Practitioners Conference.
Rachelle is a frequent presenter at the UBC Faculty of Medicine, Department of Family Practice Academic Half-Days in Prince George.
Other: In her spare time, Rachelle enjoys running her two martial arts dojos and coaching her students to compete in international tournaments, as well as golfing, swimming, cooking, and travelling.
