Special Authority criteria	Approval period
For the treatment of neuropathic pain in adult patients, when the patient has had an inadequate response to trials of gabapentin and at least 1 tricyclic antidepressant agent.	Indefinite

Special notes

Special Authority coverage of duloxetine for the treatment of neuropathic pain is available for up to a maximum dose of 60 mg/day
PharmaCare also covers duloxetine for patients enrolled in Plan P, BC Palliative Care Benefits Program, as a regular benefit at a maximum dose of 60 mg/day
