To determine the response to spacing of older western larch trees.
Individual trees were spaced in circles with radii of 2.4m, 3.6m and 4.8m (8, 12 and 16 feet), plus an unspaced control. Six diameter classes between 2.5cm and 15.0cm (1" to 6") were recognized at the time of spacing. Twenty trees in each of the six diameter classes were spaced to randomly assigned radii of clearance.
