Objective
To evaluate the growth performance of western USA Engelmann and Colorado blue spruce provenances in southwestern British Columbia.
Treatment
Seedlings from 114 seed sources from eight western states are tested. Seedlings were provided by G. Rehfeldt, USDA, Forest Service, Moscow, Idaho.
Layout
- The site contains three blocks
- A nine-tree square plot represents a provenance. Provenances are randomized within each block
- The middle seedling of each plot is marked with a wooden stake bearing a metal tag identifying the block and the provenance
