Kaitlyn is responsible for generating publication-quality map products, designing mobile mapping applications, performing analysis on projects related to geological mapping, land use, and mineral exploration while providing data integration, database management, and cartographic support to the Survey.

Kaitlyn joined the BCGS as a Geomatics Specialist in December 2022. Previously, Kaitlyn worked as a Geomatics Analyst with GeoBC, developing criteria for evaluating geospatial data for contracts awarded by the province and contributing technical knowledge for provincial specification publications. She also provided GIS mapping support and database management, developed interactive web applications, and processed aerial and drone lidar data for the province. Working as a Geomatics Field Technician, Kaitlyn collected aerial lidar data and conducted Global Navigation Satellite System surveys throughout western Canada and the United States for forestry, transportation, oil and gas, infrastructure, and environmental projects.
At the Survey, Kaitlyn provides GIS expertise to support geoscience staff and generate publication-quality maps and figures. She also develops mobile mapping solutions for integrating GIS analysis with other geospatial and geoscience-based information while creating standardization procedures for efficient data transfer and database management.
