The Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch has issued Responsible Gambling Standards (PDF).
Among other things, these public interest standards focus on ensuring: minors are prevented from gambling; patrons have the necessary information with which to make informed choices related to gambling; gambling-related risks are minimized; and persons negatively affected by gambling have access to timely and effective information and assistance.
These standards apply to the BC Lottery Corporation, all service providers, and all commercial gaming facilities. Some of these standards also apply to gaming event licensees. They are a condition of being involved in the industry and are effective immediately.
This is the third in a series of public interest standards issued by the Branch.
