On July 15, 2010, BCLC launched an expanded version of its PlayNow.com website, which included online casino gaming. Shortly after the launch, the website was shut down due to technical issues. On August 19, 2010, the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB) and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC) confirmed these issues had been successfully resolved, and the PlayNow.com website was re-launched. At the request of government and the OIPC, Deloitte & Touche LLP has delivered a third-party report to GPEB, the OIPC and BCLC that reviews and provides recommendations regarding the PlayNow.com e-casino system security and pre-launch controls. The OIPC has also conducted its own review and has made recommendations regarding privacy protocols, practices and policies.
These reports can be found at the following link:
GPEB will monitor the implementation of recommendations contained in both reports.
