Two independent reviews indicate the British Columbia Lottery Corporation's (BCLC) Voluntary Self Exclusion (VSE) program is effective and provide recommendations to further strengthen the program.
In 2007, BCLC contracted the BC Centre for Social Responsibility (BCCSR) to conduct a four year longitudinal evaluation of the effectiveness of the VSE program from the perspective of its participants.
In late 2010, the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch and BCLC asked the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) Centre for the Advancement of Best Practices, a Toronto-based agency, to conduct a review of BCLC's VSE program and compare to best practices.
