ProPASS is a monthly cost that is spread evenly over 24 pay periods for the year, bi-weekly. On a month with three pay days, the deductions will only occur on the first two pay days of the month. If an employee exits early, they may have the full month cost deducted on one pay cheque. ProPASS will be active and available for use until the last day of the calendar month of exit.
ProPASS cost details are found at BC Transit Victoria.

What is the difference between ProPASS and Umo?
ProPASS is the employer program that allows for discounted bus passes to be purchased by BC Public Service employees through payroll deductions. Umo is BC Transit’s new contactless electronic fare system to access ProPASS.
I’m unsure if I should use the Umo app or card, which one is recommended?
As the app provides riders with additional travel tools including real-time information, maps, and alerts, it is BC Transit’s recommended product for riders with access to a mobile device.
Am I able to use both the Umo app and card at the same time interchangeably?
No. Security features in the Umo system prohibit two fare methods to be linked to an account at one time.
Can I change from using the Umo card to using the Umo app and vice versa?
Umo fare methods cannot be used interchangeably, and you must choose only one.
To swap from a Umo card to the Umo app: If you have an active Umo card, you can download the Umo Mobility app and follow the app’s instructions to transfer your card to the app. Once the transfer has been completed the card will be void and unable to be used again.
To swap from the Umo app to a Umo card: To transfer your app to a Umo card, please pick up a Umo card as detailed below: “Activating Umo - Umo Card”. Once you have the card, call Umo Customer Service at 877-380-8181.
Do I have to create a Umo account to use the app?
Yes, you need to create an account with a unique username like an email address or phone number to use the app. BC Transit recommends using an email address as your username.
Choose one of the following payment methods:
Option 1: Umo App
Or Option 2: Umo Card
Using Umo
You’ll know your ProPASS was accepted when you see the Umo validator’s green checkmark.
Do I need to use cellular data to use the Umo app?
No. The mobile app does not need to use data to validate your fare.
Umo will be active as soon as the employee has completed the “Activation Process”. ProPASS payroll deductions begin at the start of the pay period in which the enrollment form is processed. Employees will be notified of when deductions will begin.
ProPASS enrollment is a minimum of one (1) year from the start date.
The only exceptions for early cancellation are:
For working employees over the age of 65, it's recommended you exit the ProPASS program and purchase a 30 Day Concession. It costs less than an adult ProPASS.
ProPASS is continuous (no expiry date) and payroll deductions will only end when you have submitted the ProPASS Victoria Exit form (PDF, 71KB) through an AskMyHR service request.
Employees will be notified when payroll deductions will end.
