This past summer, the Ministry of Finance launched the first stage of a two-stage consultation process. Specifically, we asked for your suggestions on how to improve and modernize the Cooperative Association Act. The Ministry received 26 submissions containing multiple suggestions for improvements that are discussed in the consultation paper below. During stage two, we now ask for your thoughts on those suggestions.

The deadline to provide feedback is April 30, 2023. During this time, the Ministry of Finance will be holding discussion roundtables with interested parties. To participate in these roundtables, please contact us by email or mail and indicate the topics you are most interested in speaking to.

The Ministry of Finance may share comments it receives with other branches of government, including Registries BC, which is responsible for the administration of the Cooperative Association Act.
