This section explains what information an employer of a domestic worker or textile worker must provide to the director and the time requirements in which the information must be provided.
13. (1) An employer of a domestic worker who resides at the employer’s private residence or a textile worker must provide the director with the following information:
(a) the employer's name, address, telephone number and email address;
(b) the employee's name, address and telephone number;
(c) whether the employee is a domestic worker or a textile worker.
(2) The employer must provide the information required under subsection (1) in writing to the director within 30 days after the date the employee was hired.
(3) An employer must provide the director with written notice of a change to the information provided under subsection (1) within 6 months of becoming aware of the change.
Subsection (1)
Section 15 of the Act requires an employer to provide information relating to a domestic worker who resides at the employer’s private residence and textile workers, working in a private residences, to the Director of Employment Standards. The information required is in accordance with this section as set out below:
Subsection (2)
The employer must provide the information required under subsection (1) in writing to the director within 30 days after the date the employee was hired.
Subsection (3)
An employer must provide the director with written notice of a change to the information provided under subsection (1) within 6 months of becoming aware of the change.
