The Site Remediation Program regulates contaminated sites in British Columbia.

The program focuses on:

  • Protection of human health and the environment
  • Remediation of complex, high-risk contaminated sites
  • Supporting priority development

The Environmental Management Act, Contaminated Sites Regulation and associated protocols lay out the framework and requirements for site identification, investigation and remediation of contaminated sites. 

Technical and administrative guidance describes ministry expectations on certain aspects of site investigation and remediation.
