Comments can be submitted to the EAO either online or by mail. They will be published on the EAO Project Information Centre (EPIC).
The EAO publishes all comments received within seven days of receipt, except comments that do not meet our Public Comment Policy (PDF, 536 kb).
EAO forwards all posted comments to project proponents so that they can be fully considered during the project's EA process.
Public consultation is an important and mandatory aspect of environmental assessments in British Columbia, based on the principle that those affected by proposed projects should have an opportunity to provide input to the assessment. As part of all environmental assessments, the EAO provides information for the public and seeks input to inform our work of carrying out assessments in a thorough, timely, transparent and impartial way, considering the environmental, economic, social, cultural and health effects of assessed projects.
Looking for information on a project undergoing an environmental assessment? You'll find it on the EAO's Project Information Centre (EPIC).
Learn more about the Environmental Assessment Office and how environmental assessments protect First Nations and Indigenous rights and environmental, economic, social, cultural and health effects from major projects.
