All service providers, including their employees, agents, volunteers and sub-contractors, who have access to personal information, must complete government privacy training
The training requirement will take effect on new or renewed contracts signed:
Third party service providers including employees, agents, volunteers and sub-contractors currently providing services for the Ministry of Children and Family Development will be required to complete the training within 3 months of contract signing.
For new service providers, the contract can be signed but the training must be completed before any individuals collect or create personal information.
For those working under a Family Care Home Agreement, only the signatories must complete the training.
Contractors providing services under a General Service Agreement please review the B.C. Government mandatory privacy training requirements.
Service providers that do not comply with the training requirement would be in breach of contract and necessary steps would need to be taken.
