The Ministry of Children and Family Development (the ministry) is committed to sharing with British Columbians actions taken on recommendations provided through its oversight bodies, including the Office of the Ombudsperson.
The Office of the Ombudsperson has the authority to investigate, audit, report out or make recommendations on the ministry’s work according to their governing legislation, including the need for large scale systemic changes.
The ministry shares with the Office of the Ombudsperson a strong commitment to strengthen and improve the province’s systems of care to better support children, youth and families. Recommendations are reviewed and actioned, with progress updates regularly provided to the Office of the Ombudsperson.
