The Ministry of Children and Family Development is committed to sharing with British Columbians actions taken and progress made on recommendations in the 2016 report, Indigenous Resilience, Connectedness and Reunification – From Root Causes to Root Solutions.
On November 21, 2016, the Province accepted the intent of the 85 recommendations put forward. A number of these recommendations were assigned solely to the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and others were assigned to be co-led by MCFD and other organizations or solely led by other organizations. The ministry welcomed this report as it offered valuable insights on strengthening supports and services for children, youth and families, and it has guided and informed legislation and policy changes as well as new legislation, to improve those services and supports.
