The Table of Provincial and Territorial Ministers Responsible for Local Government is a strategic organization that promotes constructive intergovernmental dialogue and information sharing on matters of importance to local government sustainability.
The ministers meet annually, identify priority areas for the coming year and articulate positions on issues of shared interest.
B.C.’s Minister of Municipal Affairs is a member of the table.
The Provincial and Territorial Ministers Responsible for Local Government Collaboration Agreement - 2019 (PDF) refreshes the principles, objectives and mandate of the ministers’ table to promote effective collaboration on local government matters.
The agreement provides a formal basis for the table of ministers, a table of deputy ministers, and the Provincial-Territorial Officials Committee (PTOC) to meet and collaborate with the goal of facilitating research, analysis, planning and sharing of information. The agreement was ratified by all 13 ministers and signals a collective commitment to work together to support local governments.
