Medical Assistance in Dying - Statistics

B.C. medical assistance in dying (MAiD) statistical reports provide an overview of MAiD in the province, including the number of MAiD provisions by health authority, information about persons receiving MAiD (sex, age, underlying medical conditions, source of MAiD request, location of MAiD provision), and information about MAiD Prescribers.

Publication Schedule

B.C. MAiD Statistical Reports will be posted on the following dates:

  Q1 Report (covering Jan 1 – March 31)

  First Thursday of October of the same year

  Q2 Report (covering April 1 – June 30)

  First Thursday of January of the following year

  Q3 Report (covering July 1 – Sept 30)

  First Thursday of April of the following year

  Q4 Report (covering Oct 1 – Dec 31)

  First Thursday of July of the following year

  Annual Report (covering Jan 1 – Dec 31)

  First Thursday of July of the following year

NOTE: If the publication date falls on a statutory holiday, the report will be posted the following business day
