In March 2024, the province announced a new publicly funded IVF program that is anticipated to be launched in April 2025. The program will provide funding for one cycle of IVF for eligible B.C. residents.
The IVF program is currently in development. An expert clinical group has been established to advise on specific program parameters such as eligibility considerations, service delivery options, and care pathways to access the service throughout B.C.
Once this work is complete, more details about coverage and included services will be available.
Starting in April 2025, eligible B.C. residents may benefit from the publicly funded IVF program. Program development is underway, and more details on the application process will be available once the program details have been finalized.

Retroactive reimbursement of IVF treatment before program launch (April 2025) will not be available.

Individuals who would like to take the next step in their fertility journey should consult their health care practitioner.
More details on the application process for the IVF program will be available once the program details have been finalized.
