Vending Machines

Last updated on April 11, 2017

The Government of British Columbia is committed to helping British Columbians make healthy choices where they live, learn, work and play.  Although a vending machine is often the only option for a quick snack, junk food shouldn't be. The Healthier Choices in Vending Machines in BC Public Buildings policy sets minimum nutrient standards for prepackaged food and beverages so a range of healthier options are available in public buildings. Nutrient criteria for the policy are based on the Guidelines for Food and Beverage Sales in British Columbia Schools.
