This is a summary of Correct Quantities Policy — Section 5.5, PharmaCare Policy Manual.

  • Creams or ointments: weight in grams
    Liquid, oral: volume in millilitres
  • Liquid, injectable: volume in millilitres or number of vials
  • Nebulizers and other inhaled medications: volume in millilitres (see also list of specific inhaled medications)
  • Patches: number of patches
  • Powders for injection: grams or number of vials
  • Prefilled vaccine syringes: volume in millilitres (e.g., 0.5 mL)
  • Pre-loaded syringes: number of syringes
  • Sprays: number of doses (if provided on packaging); otherwise, volume in millilitres
  • Suppositories: number of suppositories
  • Tablet/capsules/caplets: number of tablets or capsules or caplets
