In general, the panel members’ responsibilities are to:
- undertake all the responsibilities of the Chair if designated
- exercise sound judgment
- provide and communicate an objective and independent viewpoint
- respect the panel's responsibilities and processes
- perform other activities assigned by the Chair
Additional duties and responsibilities of the panel Chairs are to:
- undertake and perform all the responsibilities of Chair as outlined in the Assessment Act and ministry policy
- perform other activities assigned by the Administrator or ministry staff that are within the nature and scope of the position
All panel members are expected to carry out their duties according to the Assessment Act, and the Administrative Tribunals Act as applicable, and as identified in training provided by the Ministry. Members and Chairs must also comply with the Code of Conduct [PDF] set down by the Ministry.
