BC AgriStability Enhancement

The Government of British Columbia has established the 2024 BC AgriStability Enhancement Program which offers greater coverage and helps agricultural producers manage income losses due to extreme weather, marketing challenges or natural disaster in 2024.

2024 BC Enhancement Program details:

  • The BC Government will pay a higher compensation rate to AgriStability Participants for the 2024 Program Year; BC will top up AgriStability's existing 80% compensation rate to 90% on margin declines greater than 30%; learn How AgriStability Works.

  • The higher compensation rate applies to all producers in British Columbia who are enrolled in AgriStability for 2024

  • The BC Government will increase the existing AgriStability $3 Million dollar payment limit to $6.2 Million dollars
  • Additionally, Late Participation for AgriStability 2024 ensures you can still enrol in the AgriStability program until April 30, 2025

Application Process:

If you are already participating in AgriStability for 2024 and have suffered an income decline, you will automatically receive the increased protection that the 2024 BC Enhancement Program provides.

If you are not already enrolled in AgriStability 2024, it is not too late! Through Late Participation the enrolment deadline for the 2024 Program Year has been extended to April 30, 2025.  Complete and submit the Late Participation Information and Declaration form to the AgriStability Administration by email, fax or by mail.

Interim Payment Increase for 2024

The Governments of Canada and British Columbia have agreed to increase the 2024 AgriStability interim payment percentage from 50% up to 75% of the estimated final 2024 benefit for BC Farmers.

If your farm has experienced an income decline in 2024, the AgriStability interim payment feature can help. The interim payment is an advance on your final 2024 AgriStability benefit; the deadline to apply is March 31, 2025.
