February 28

Since the announcement of the BC Timber Sales review on January 15, significant strides have been made in planning, developing engagement processes, and establishing project teams and governance structures. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and transparent review process, and we’re excited to share our progress so far.

Key Milestones:

  • Briefings with the Task Force: We held both initial and follow-up briefings with the Task Force to ensure alignment on the engagement process and the development of relevant policies
  • Internal Working Group Meetings: Our Internal Working Group met with the Task Force to discuss the foundational processes for engagement and policy development
  • Policy Exploration: Initial exploratory research and ideation on potential policy ideas have commenced, laying the groundwork for the next phase of the review

Engagement with Stakeholders:

  • The Task Force has already begun engaging with stakeholders and attended their first Provincial Forestry Forum meeting
  • Engagement: On February 25 and 26, we hosted an engagement session at the First Nations Forestry Council Annual Forum, connecting with over 100 participants to gather valuable insights and feedback
