The time extension order signed by the Chief Gold Commissioner on March 27, 2020 provided title holders with additional time, until December 31, 2021, to register work, make payment instead of work, or apply rental to keep their titles in good standing. The order applies to all titles that have a good to date on or before December 31, 2021
The time extension order does not change the expiry (good to date) of any titles.
At midnight on December 31, 2021, any mineral or placer claims having a good to date before January 1, 2022 will forfeit.
Due to the number of claims that may be forfeiting, the Mineral Titles Branch has chosen to alter the date when cells of the forfeited claims become available.
Additionally, for any claims that are abandoned between now and midnight of December 31, 2021, those cells related to the abandoned claims will also have their availability date altered.
