Site Nomination

Nominations were accepted from June 15, 2020 to September 30, 2020

Indigenous communities, landowners and local governments responded with 1,853 nominations for 1,464 Dormant well sites, through an online process supported by the BC Oil and Gas Commission, for consideration for work under the Program.

Nominated sites will be a priority in the second increment.

• Sites are required to be nominated through an online process (beginning June 15, 2020)
• Contractor applications that include Nominated Sites in their program of work in the second increment may be given priority for financial contribution funding by the Province
• Permit holders responsible for any Nominated Sites received notification in writing from the Province of all their Dormant well sites that were Nominated under the program
• Contractors submitting applications for a financial contribution from the Province in the second increment must identify if a site has been a Nominated Site in order to be prioritized
