In developing an expression of interest, you will need to provide the following:
Once submitted, the expression of interest will be reviewed by the provincial government and then referred to other agencies, as well as First Nations. The branch may also seek public input at this stage. Typically, this review will take about 30 days.
If the result of this review is positive, the provincial government may advertise for additional expressions of interest. Other parties will be given 30 days to submit their own visions at this stage. If none are received or none are considered to be sufficiently developed, then you–the original proponent–will be invited to submit a formal proposal.
A competitive process, based on terms of reference provided by the provincial government, may take place if competing expressions of interest are received.
At the end of this process, a single proponent will be chosen by the provincial government and invited to submit a formal proposal. Learn about the Formal Proposal requirements for this stage.
