For general information about the Short-Term Rental Accommodations Act, see Overview: B.C.'s short-term rental accommodations legislation.
Land within mountain resort boundaries is exempt from the principal residence requirement of the Short-Term Rentals Accommodation Act (STRAA). Land exempted is unique to each mountain resort and includes accommodation directly connected to resort operations and the resort development.
Below is a list of links to maps that highlight the area of exempt land identified as Resort Accommodation Areas. While most mountain resorts are located on Crown Land, some are located on private land, or within BC Parks or local government boundaries.
