Explanation of the 2014 amendments to the Supreme Court Civil Rules (Probate)

The Supreme Court Civil Rules dealing with probate and administration (“Probate Rules”) were amended to reflect changes brought about by the enactment of the Wills, Estates and Succession Act and to generally modernize the application process.

A summary explanation of the Probate Rules is available, along with a redline version of the rules that shows the changes.

The news rules came into effect with the Wills, Estates and Succession Act on March 31, 2014.
