BC Corrections integrated community outreach teams

Integrated community outreach teams enhance community safety and help individuals with complex needs address the causes of their criminal behaviour.

Professionals from BC Corrections, the Ministry of Health, regional health authorities, the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, local police, and community resources work together to improve individuals’ access to:

Housing
Financial support
Mental health services
Addiction services

Depending on the community, team members may include a:

Probation officer
Mental health social worker
Mental health outreach worker
Psychiatric nurse
Income assistance worker
Police officer

Each integrated team is designed to suit the region’s needs and available resources. There are teams in Victoria, Surrey, Langley and Prince George.
