What are duty counsel?

Family duty counsel are lawyers paid by Legal Aid BC to help people with low incomes deal with their family law problems. If you have a family law issue, you may qualify for help from family duty counsel in Provincial Court or Supreme Court, even if you don't qualify for a legal aid lawyer.

Visit the Government of Canada's child support table look-up to find the base amount of child support.
Enroll your maintenance order or agreement with the BC Family Maintenance Agency.
See if the Child Support Recalculation Service could help you annually recalculate child support without having to go to court.
