Statistical reports on deaths in the province provided by the BC Coroners Service and Vital Statistics.
The Coroners Service investigates all sudden, unexpected and/or unnatural deaths in B.C. and through its investigations and reviews may make recommendations aimed at preventing death in similar circumstances.
NOTE: In 2019, the Ministry of Health established Community Health Service Areas (CHSAs). CHSA’s are a new geographical grouping made up of community-level areas. Multiple CHSA’s are included within a Local Health Area (LHA). In June 2020, Vital Statistics updated all death reports on this page to show deaths by CHSAs.
