Information sharing

Generally, the Civil Forfeiture Office (CFO) relies on information sharing agreements to gather information from other agencies.

The CFO's information gathering powers are outlined in the:

Civil Forfeiture Act
Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
Personal Information Protection Act
(among others)

The CFO uses these ISAs most often:

ISA between B.C. and the RCMP and the Government of Canada
ISA between B.C. and the municipal police departments in B.C.
