Provide the following documents for each vehicle registered outside B.C., that you intend to use for your passenger transportation service.
To maintain care and control of your passenger transportation licence, you must advise the Registrar of updates to this material.
Provide a photocopy of a valid BC Insurance Filing lettered issued by ICBC, or if you do not have this, attach a written statement to explain how you intent to meet motor vehicle liability insurance requirements.
For example, prior to entering BC you will contact the Provincial Permit Centre to purchase a non-resident single commercial vehicle permit (NRSCV) or a non-resident quarterly commercial vehicle permit (NRQCV) that includes insurance.
Provide a photocopy of the apportioned cab card for each vehicle to show proof that the vehicle is registered in B.C. with the International Registration Plan (IRP).
If the vehicle is not registered with International Registration Plan (IRP), you must include a written statement to explain how you intend to pay B.C. vehicle licensing fees.
Or, you can purchase a non-resident single commercial vehicle permit (NRSCV) or a non-resident quarterly commercial vehicle permit (NRQCV).
Provide a photocopy of the current vehicle insurance to show the vehicle has been licensed and insured in your home jurisdiction as a commercial passenger vehicle. Make sure it displays the correct seating capacity.
A photocopy of the mechanical inspection report that verifies the vehicle has been inspected and passed by an approved vehicle inspection facility. Inspections must be performed on a semi-annual basis unless your operation is part of a preventative maintenance program.
