'Accommodation' refers to the employer’s responsibility to tailor the workplace to meet the needs of the individual employee under the BC Human Rights Code.
The purpose of accommodation is to provide access to employment opportunities and fair treatment in the workplace.
There is no set formula for accommodation. Managers and supervisors in the BC Public Service are responsible for considering the requests from employees and job applicants for accommodation of work-related needs.
