Why use this tool?

Organics Info improves transparency around recycling organic matter in accordance with the Organic Matter Recycling Regulation (OMRR), which:

  • governs the operation of compost facilities
  • regulates the production, distribution, storage, sale, and use of biosolids and compost

Who can use this tool?

This tool can be used by:

  • a member of the public
  • an industry professional
  • an organization
  • First Nations
  • local governments
  • anyone who wants to see information about authorized compost and biosolids facilities

How to export Organics Info results

iMapBC is a tool that can be used to access digital maps across British Columbia. It includes features and data that are not available on Organics Info. You can reference information available on iMapBC alongside facility information from Organics Info. To export data from Organics Info for use on iMapBC, click 'Export Results to CSV' on the 'Text Search Page' of Organics Info.

To import data from Organics Info into iMapBC, click on the ‘Data Sources’ tab and select ‘Upload Data’ to upload the .csv file exported from Organics Info.

Sources of information

The information on this site is available on the Authorization Management System (AMS), which stores documentation for waste discharge authorizations. It can be publicly searched and downloaded from the B.C. Data Catalogue.

The Natural Resource Compliance and Enforcement Database (NRCED) provides information on compliance inspections. Some authorizations may have monitoring results uploaded to the Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) and the B.C. Data Catalogue.
