The BC Food Hub Network (the network) aims to foster growth and innovation in the processing sector through improved industry access to facilities, equipment, technology, technical services and business supports.

About the BC Food Hub Network

The network is being developed in collaboration with industry, communities and post-secondary institutions to build provincial food and beverage processing while serving the regional and sector diversity of the province.

Vision

Leading the world in food and beverage processing and innovation

Mission

Helping B.C.’s food and beverage businesses grow, innovate and commercialize

The BC Food Hub network:

  • Supports the Minister of Agriculture and Food’s commitment to expand the Grow BC, Feed BC and Buy BC programs to encourage greater food security and local business growth
  • Is comprised of fourteen regional food processing and innovation hubs (‘food hubs’) that work together to advance the agriculture, seafood, and commercial food processing sectors by providing shared-use kitchen and production space in urban and rural communities
  • Food hubs are commercial shared-use food and beverage processing facilities that provide access to commercial processing space, equipment, expertise, and resources to support business development and growth
  • Includes the Endowed Food and Beverage Innovation Professorship, held by Dr. Anubhav Pratap Singh, at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Vancouver campus
