The Timber Sales Advisory Council (TSAC) and the BCTS Contract Advisory Committee (BCAC) give interested parties and representatives opportunities to consider issues and topics of interest to BCTS clients and customers.
Established in 2004, the Timber Sales Advisory Council (TSAC) provides a forum to gather sector viewpoints and obtain advice on a range of legislative, policy, business practice and program performance issues significant to BCTS.
The council consists of representatives from industry associations whose members are significant BCTS customers and clients, and key BCTS staff including the program executive and senior managers. This group has the knowledge and the external and internal perspective necessary to fully evaluate program performance and develop ways of improving it.
All industry members are appointed by the Executive Director of BCTS with no set term (or an alternative representative nominated by the sponsoring association). Associations not currently represented on TSAC may petition for membership through the Secretariat.
The BC Timber Sales Contract Advisory Committee (BCAC) is made up of BCTS staff and representatives from our contracting community. The role of BCAC is to identify opportunities for improvement in BCTS contracting practices.
BC Timber Sales (BCTS) and its contracting community have agreed to renew and revitalize BCAC to make contracting more effective for BCTS and its contractors. This collaboration will assist BCTS in achieving its goal and objectives.
The group has been involved in developing initiatives such as the continuous bid deposit, tender quality assurance process and eliminating planting performance securities and the planting contractor rating system. These initiatives are currently being evaluated and improved.
